Page 18 Charles J. Love to Elisha Kirklen, October 29, 1829


This Indenture made the 29th day of October, 1829 between Charles J. Love of the County of Davidson and State of Tennessee by his attorney infact John McIver of the one part and Elisha Kirklen of the County of Bledsoe and State of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that Charles J. Love for the sum of $518 hath sold unto Elisha Kirklen two certain tracts of land in Bledsoe County one of said tracts containing 166 acres on the South East side of Sequatchie Cr. being the same tract on which Jesse Lewis formerly lived and adjoining John Thomas’ three and one half acres tract and to the tract of 175 acres sold in the year 1816 to Dauswell, Emanuel, and William Rogers then to the Casner tract lately sold to John Bridgeman and to the tract of 200 acres lately sold to Joel and Robert Lowry. The other of said tracts containing 175 acres adjoining the land lately sold and conveyed by said Love and George W. Campbell to said Kirklen and also adjoining the lands of Ephriam Thurman and Latan Smith and to the corner of Latan Smith and Peter Hoodenpyle.
