I have not been able to document if William Barker built this cabin but he is the oldest listed Barker for Sequatchie County.
William Barker’s Written Will and Testament, written on June 5, 1856, filed October 1858, Sequatchie County Wills and Inventories, page 9. Mr. Barker lists his wife as being Ruth and appoints J.G. Barker, Henry Barker, Howel Barker, and M. E. Barker, “My executors to assist their Mother”. Page 10, Inventory of the estate of William Barker, decd. …. Recorded on Nov. 1, 1858.
