Sequatchie County Court Minute Book A, Page 351, Paragraph 3.

It appearing to the Court that Penze W. Grant departed this life on or about the 14th day of July 1865. It is ordered by the Court by request of the Widow and Heirs of said ded that N. F. Burnett be appointed Adminstrator of said Estate. ~End~

This Inventory is only this one complete page and is not signed off nor is it dated, but may possibly be sometime 1865 to 1867. It is interesting because there are notations on some of the “notes due” to Mr. Grant's Estate. This P. W. Grant Inventory only mentions who owes the Grant Estate and does not mention any property, land or personal items.

Enventory of the effects of the Estate of P. W. Grant Dec. that come unto my hands as Administrator of said Estate to writ.

One note on Josiah Rogers payable twelve month after date in gold baring 8 per cent interest from date for sixty five dollars dated 18th day of April 1863

One ~Note on E. A. Teague for --------$5.60

Dated May 25, 1861

One ~ Note on C. L. Lewis for $2.50 Dated 19th June 1857. Not Good

One Note on W. E. Anderson and B. L. Bennet payable in gold bearing interest from date for One Hundred Sixty two dollars and fifty cents. Dated Febuary 25, 1863

With a credit on it of $87.00 30 January 1866

One receipt on W. E. Anderson for Six Hundred dollars in Confederate money Dated Febuary 23 1863 Not Good

One Note on A. F. Davis for One hundred Dollars bearing interest from date.

Dated April 19th 1862 payable two years after date. Also with said note a deed of trust for five hundred acres of land, dated April 19th 1862

One Due Bill on A. F. Davis for fifty Dollars dated September 1st 1862 Doubtful

One Note on A. F. Davis for $102.00 ) One Hundred & two Dollars payable one day after date.

Dated Aug. 2nd 1858 Doubtful

One Goverment Claim for $444.50 Doubtful

One account against the U. S. Goverment for $695.00 ) Doubtful
