Pantalets Bloomers/pantaloons/pantalets must be worn for modesty’s sake. They can be made by using an elastic waistband or drawstring waist pants pattern (shoes strings make great drawstrings). Muslin or white cotton are appropriate fabrics, lace and tucks to trim are optional. They should be slightly longer than the length of the dress itself. Petticoats ~ a petticoat is recommended to give your young lady’s dress the correct shape, but it is optional. |

Pinafores ~ these apron-like dress coverings button in the back. They are sleeveless, unfitted and have plain round necks. They may have a ruffle at the bottom and some have ruffles at the sleeve cap. Pinafores are used to protect dresses from everyday dirt. They should hang about 3”to 4” above the hem of the dress. Shirts For the Boys o Woven shirts are required, NO KNIT SHIRTS (i.e. polo shirts and tee shirts) o Shirts should be made of cotton or linen. They need to be long-sleeved, full (gathered across theyolk – front/back of the shirt), and open at the neck, without a collar. You can use a plaid shirt or a chambray shirt, button up only.
